Our Commitment to Accessibility

Catch Carmel is committed to ensuring our website is accessible to everyone, including guests with disabilities. We want every visitor — whether you’re browsing our menu, learning our story, or booking a table — to have a welcoming, seamless experience online, the same way we welcome every guest like family in our dining room.

Conformance Standard

We strive to design, develop, and maintain our website in substantial conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines are the widely recognized benchmark for making web content more accessible to people with a broad range of disabilities — including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive differences — and, although the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) does not prescribe a specific technical standard for websites, WCAG 2.2 Level AA is widely recognized as an appropriate benchmark for digital accessibility.

What We’ve Done

Accessibility has been an important consideration in the design and ongoing maintenance of this website. Steps we’ve taken include:

  • We strive to support current versions of major web browsers and commonly used assistive technologies.
  • Readable color contrast between text and its background, so content is legible for guests with low vision and in bright conditions.
  • We provide text alternatives for meaningful images, whenever appropriate.
  • The website is designed to support keyboard navigation throughout the site, including reservation links where possible.
  • Clear, consistent structure — descriptive page headings, labeled forms, and a “skip to content” link for people using assistive technology.
  • An HTML menu you can read with a screen reader, rather than a flat image or PDF.
  • Responsive, mobile-friendly design that reflows and zooms without breaking.

Reservations & Third-Party Tools

Some features and services available through our website, including reservations, online ordering, reviews, social media, and other interactive or customer-engagement features, may be provided through or integrated with third-party platforms. We strive to select and work with third-party providers that support accessibility; however, we do not control the design, functionality, or accessibility of third-party websites, applications, platforms, or content, and accessibility features may vary over time.

For example, our reservation services are provided through OpenTable. We have designed our reservation links to support keyboard navigation and screen-reader accessibility, but portions of the reservation experience are controlled by OpenTable. Similarly, online ordering, social media, review platforms, and other third-party services may have their own accessibility features and limitations.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier while using a third-party service associated with our restaurant, please contact us. We will make reasonable efforts to assist you and, where appropriate, provide an alternative way to access the service or obtain the information you need. For example, we will gladly reserve your table by phone.

Ongoing Effort

Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time task. We review the site as we add content and features, and we work to maintain and improve accessibility over time. Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible — if you encounter a barrier, we want to hear about it and will make reasonable efforts to fix it. We welcome your feedback and use it to help improve the accessibility of our website.
